Norma Conley Searles

Norma Conley Searles, born in Penn Yan to Howard and Edna Conley and dedicated her life to teaching for many years before retiring at Weldon Funeral Home as an elementary teacher, passed away peacefully on September 24th at 83. Her burial will take place at Nettle Valley Cemetery in Potter. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, September 30th, between 11:00 am and 12:00 PM at Weldon Funeral Home. She made an impactful impact on many children’s lives during that time.

Susan Weldon of Woodbridge, Virginia, and Barbara Weldon of Fredericksburg; grandchildren Bryce Harris, Braiden Tyler, and Britain Tyler, as well as great-grandsons Caden and Connor Tyler, are surviving, as are numerous nieces and nephews. William A. Searles (deceased) and Brandon Lemar Weldon were among her departed loved ones.

Margaret Rumsey

Margaret Rumsey of Baldwin Road in Penn Yan died September 12. Born June 1, 1937, to Howard and Barbara Heusler, who both predeceased her, Margaret was a lifelong member of Penfield Central School District, where she taught for many years, and the First Baptist Church in Shelbyville, where she worshipped regularly. Bruce Rumsey survives Margaret, Robert and Ronald’s sons, Linda’s daughter, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews who all survived her. Funeral services took place Tuesday, followed by committal services at Branchport Cemetery.

The family would like to express our sincerest gratitude and appreciation to their friends and family, especially the Weldon Fisher Funeral Home staff, for their support and guidance. Instead of flowers, donations should be made in his memory to Plantersville Baptist Church or Cahaba Hospice.

Weldon Fisher, co-owner of Weldon-Fisher Funeral Home in Springfield, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 15, 2021, at age 84. He leaves behind his wife, Wilma J. Smoot; two sons, David and Weldon; daughters, Deborah and Linda; grandchildren Taso, Acki, and Keti; brothers Cecil Herman (deceased), George Herman (living), Karen King, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

On Monday, October 9 at 11 am, a funeral service will be held at Weldon-Fisher Funeral Home and burial in Brooks Family Cemetery at Grainery Road in Montross. Visitation for family and friends will occur Sunday from 5 pm to 7 pm and Monday from 10 am until service time at 11 am at Weldon-Fisher.
